Story goes that he [Michael Jordan] threatened Bill Cartwright one day in 1992 for shooting instead of passing him the ball, and Cartwright said something to the effect of “Go ahead, you try anything with me and I’ll beat your ass. And don’t you ever talk to me like that again.” And apparently MJ hardly ever said a single word to Bill Cartwright ever again. Of course, Cartwright retired the next season anyway.
